As the most successful small car owned by Honda, the history of Fit actually dates back to the 1980s. In 1981, Honda introduced a small hatchback called "City" between K-car and citizen. Because it broke away from Japan's "light four-wheeled vehicle regulations", this A0-class car also went to other markets in the world.

Although the size of the city is compact, the interior space is very large, and the design of four wheels and four corners makes the longitudinal size of the passenger compartment reach the extreme.
